  26. Not only that but WCS (World Construction Set) supports vector objects (known 
  27. in the GIS - Graphic Information System - industry as DLG objects, for Digital 
  28. Land Grids...don't you just love TLAs?*). When you send in your registration card 
  29. you get low res DEM (Digital Elevation Module) data of the entire earth, complete 
  30. with DLG objects  of country outlines, rivers, and USA state outlines.

  32. To sum up: you can use DEMs in WCS with DLG's.

  36. Or to translate: WCS can put vectors on the landscape to show
  37. roads, boundaries, etc., and it comes with a bunch of vectors already 
  38. created.

  40. You can also add your own vector objects to indicate roads, counties, or
  41. whatever you need. If you want you can convert a vector object into a
  42. camera path to, for example, fly the camera down a road.

  44. Another option with World Construction Set is to drape a satellite picture or 
  45. a map directly onto your 3D landscape.

  47. You can even export a WCS scene in LW format and use LW to  fly an aircraft
  48. (or a cow, or whatever you want) over the terrain (See the upcoming WCS+LW 
  49. Lightspeed tutorial).

  51. So there you go, fun with World Construction Set without even using the new
  52. 3D clouds, water, reflections, beaches, 3D-shaded scaled image trees or 
  53. celestial objects.  :^)

  81. On the NT Alpha the WCS render engine is currently available for 
  82. fast rendering of scenes designed on Amiga WCS V2.

  84. WCS V2 for Alpha NT and Intel NT/W95 are slated for release in July 
  85. (a prerelease might be available sooner for those who really need it; 
  86. contact Questar to get on the list).
